Majid Abbasi AGI
Iran

 

Majid Abbasi was born in 1965 in Tehran. In 1996 Abbasi graduated from the Tehran University with the degree in visual communication. That same year Majid founded Did Graphics Inc., which became one of the leading design studios in Tehran. During the years of 2003-2006 Abbasi served as a board member of the Iranian Graphic Designers Association. Also in 2003 he joined the Faculty of Fine Arts at his alma mater, where he taught till 2007. Recently Majid has launched Neshan, an Iranian graphic design magazine for which Abbasi sits on the editorial board, while he is also a founder of 'The 5th Color,' a collective formed by what he describes as “the new generation of Iranian graphic designers”. Majid won numerous domestic and international competitions and awards. He is a member of AGI (Alliance Graphique International) since 2009. Currently, Abbasi lives and works in Canada.

David Carson AGI
USA

 

 

David Carson is a cult figure of the 1990-s. «New Literature Review», a Moscow journal, has characterized him as the «visual adrenalin provider number one». Carson has managed to «entirely change general conception about graphic design», - wrote «Newsweek». «Creative Review», a London journal has titled an article about him «Art Director of the New Era».  «Graphics» magazine calls Carson «one of the top five most influential graphic desingers of all time». «Creativity» magazine lists Carson as «one of the top 50 creative people in America».
His works have been published in over 200 magazines. His books and albums have become worldwide bestsellers. Publications and re-publications of his books have been achieving all ratings in number of editions within the history of graphic design. His lectures and master-classes took place in over 100 countries of the world. 
David Carson was born in 1955. He graduated from San Diego State University in 1977. He worked as an art director in such magazines as «Trans World Skateboarding», «Trans World Snowboarding», «Beach Culture», «Surfer» and «Ray Gun».
Carson is the head of a small but mobile design firm called «David Carson Design». «Pepsi» and «Соса-Соlа»», «Microsoft» and «Apple Computers», «Citibank» and «National Bank», «Toyota» and «Mercedes Benz», «Levi's», «Nike», «Samsung», «Xerox», «Аmerican Ехрress» and «Giorgio Armani» are among his clients.

 

 

 

Ken Cato AGI
Australia

 

Ken Cato was born in 1946 in Brisbane (Australia).  Graduated from Royal Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology  in 1968. In 1970 Ken Cato established  design studio «Cato Design», which became «Cato Purnell Partners» , the biggest design company in South hemisphere with offices and representations in Barcelona, Buenos Aires, Hong Kong, Guangzhou, Jakarta, Dubai, Kuala Lumpur, London, Madrid, Mexico, New York, Sydney, Singapore, Tokyo and other cities around the world. Founder of the world  biggest student conference and international design week «agIdeas» (1992). Winner of countless international design  awards. Author of the books and albums  «First Choice», «GD 3D - Graphic Design in the Third Dimension», «Design for Business», «Design By Thinking», «Experiences» and others. President of professional superclub AGI (Alliance Graphique International) from 1997 to 2000. Honorary Doctorate of Design of Swinburne University of Technology in Melbourne, a member of the American Institute of Graphic Arts, ICOGRADA, Design Institute of Australia, Australian Marketing Institute, Industrial Design Council of Australia, Patron of the Australian Academy of Design. Ken Cato is a foreign member of Russian Academy of Graphic Design.

Alain Le Quernec AGI

Alain Le Quernec was born in 1944 in Le Faouët, France. Studied  in art academies in Paris and Warsaw, disciple of Henryk Tomaszewski. Winner of all main world design awards. Five-time winner of Golden Bee award (2000, 2004, 2006, 2008, 2010). Author of lectures and master-classes all around  the world. Professor. One-man shows in Paris (1981, 1997), Tel Aviv (1987), Osaka (1992), Tokyo (1992), La Louvière (1996), Montpellier (2001), Bogota (2003), Posnan (2005), Essen (2009). Member of internatioal superclub AGI (Alliance Graphique International) and a foreign member of Russian Academy of Graphic Design. Lives and works in Quimper, France  since 1972.

 

 

 

Istvan Orosz AGI

Istvan Orosz
Istvan Orosz was born in 1951 in Kecskemét (Hungary). In 1975 he graduated from the Hungarian University of Fine Arts in Budapest where architect Erno Rubik, inventor of the world famous puzzle Rubik's Cube, was one of his tutors. After graduation Istvan Orosz worked not only in graphic design, poster and book illustration, but also as a theater stage designer and film director. He is now a director at the Pannonia Film studio. Whatever he is into, Orosz uses optical illusions, aesthetics of absurdity and the art of the impossible and mixes boldly classical and modern themes and images. All his works can be called "Orosz's puzzles".
His professional design awards include Gold medal of the International Graphic Design Biennale in Brno (1990), First prize of the International Poster Biennale in Lahti (1991), ICOGRADA award at the International poster festival in Chaumont (1994), Gold medal of the Annual Exhibition of the Society of Illustrators, New York (2001), Bronze medal of the International Poster Biennale in Warsaw (2010). He was also a laureate of the Golden Bee 5 biennale in the Poster category (2000).
Istvan Orosz is a member of AGI (Alliance Graphique International). He is a co-founder of the Hungarian poster association, professor at the University of Western Hungary in Sopron and the University of Fine Arts in Budapest, academic of the Hungarian Academy of Arts and Literature.

 

 

 

Apex Lin
Taiwan

 

Apex Pang-Soong Lin was born in Donggang Town of Pingtung County, Taiwan, in 1957. He received his M.F.A. from the Graduate Institute of Fine Arts, National Taiwan Normal University, and is currently the professor of Visual Design Department, NTNU. Lin has been acclaimed mentor of design in Taiwan and was the winner of the 2007 National Award for Literature and Arts. Lin established Taiwan Image Poster Design Association in 1990, actively encouraging Taiwanese designers to participate in international competitions, cross-strait exhibitions, and other activities ever since. In 1993, he was listed top 12 CI designers in Asia by New DECOMAS. Then in 2002, he was honored with the ICOGRADA Achievement Award by the International Council of Graphic Design Associations. He was listed among 100 Graphic Designers in the world by Phaidon in 2003. In 2004, he received the First Outstanding Award of Commercial by MOEA. In 2005, he was granted the Design for Asia Award by Hong Kong Design Center, as commendation of his great artistic influence in Asia. In 2011 he was honored with the ICOGRADA Education Award by Icograda.

 


 

 

Paula Troxler
Switzerland

 

Paula Troxler was born in1981 in Willisau. In 2006 she graduated from Lucerne University of Applied Sciences for Art and Design, Specialised in visual communication with a course of studies on Illustration. Since 2006 she is working as a freelance illustrator in her own studios in Lucerne, Berlin and Zurich. Since 2011 working as a stand-in Professor at FH Mainz University (Germany). First prize at the Theaterbiennale in Rzeszow (2007), Special prize at Poster Biennale in Korea (2005), Jagda Excellent Award at the International Poster Biennale Taiwan (2007), TDC Tokyo (2007, 2009, 2010), TDC New York (2007, 2010). She was the laureat of the Golden Bee 9 Award (2010).

Boris Trofimov

Boris Trofimov was born in Moscow in 1940. Graduate of the Moscow Polygraphic Institute (1967). Professional awards include: Gold Medal (1982) and Grand Prix (1986) of the International Graphic Design Biennale in Brno; First Prize “Bronze Owl” of the International Book Fair in Sofia (1984); Honorary diploma “For original and highly artistic design of orthodox editions” at the “Orthodox book” awards ceremony (2003). Laureate of the State Prize of the Russian Federation in literature and arts (2001). Leading teacher and head of his own workshop at the Higher Academic School of Graphic Design. Individual exhibitions in Moscow (1990, 1998, 2006), Tyumen (2003), Prague (2011). Member of the Academy of Graphic Design, member of the Artists Union and Designers Union of Russia, honorary member of the Buenos Aires Association of Graphic Designers, honorary member of the Brno Biennale International Association.
